About Plasticine Games
Welcome!
Plasticine Games is a small independent game studio owned and operated by Shawn.Genji. What started as a hobby has grown into a passion project dedicated to creating relaxing puzzle games and experimental experiences that are polished, thoughtfully designed, and simply fun to play.
I develop every game in my spare time, focusing on the details that often make the biggest difference: responsive gameplay, handcrafted visuals, carefully selected sound effects, and music designed to create a smooth, enjoyable experience. My goal is simple—I hope you enjoy playing these games as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them.
About Owldoku
Owldoku is my take on the Queens puzzle. It began with a simple thought: surely someone could make a better version than the endless stream of low-quality mobile puzzle ads. Rather than settling for the bare minimum, I wanted to build a version that feels satisfying from the very first click.
Beyond recreating the core puzzle, Owldoku introduces its own innovations. The puzzle generation algorithm has been carefully designed to produce more interesting and challenging boards, and the highest difficulty features an entirely unique variation of the game that offers a fresh experience even for experienced players.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing daily puzzle or a serious mental challenge, I hope Owldoku provides an experience that’s rewarding, polished, and worth coming back to.
Looking Ahead
Owldoku is only the beginning. Plasticine Games is already developing its next project, Slime Sliders, along with other experimental games that explore new mechanics and ideas while maintaining a focus on accessibility, quality, and player enjoyment.
Your Privacy
Owldoku stores a small amount of information locally on your device using your browser’s local storage. This includes things such as your audio preferences and personal accomplishments, including best times and completed difficulties.
This information never leaves your device and is not accessible to Plasticine Games.
Owldoku does not include player accounts, cloud saves, analytics, crash reporting, or tracking technologies created by Plasticine Games.
The website may display advertisements through Adsterra or similar advertising providers. These third-party services may collect information as described in their own privacy policies. Plasticine Games does not receive access to your locally stored game data. See the full Privacy Policy for details.
Accessibility
Owldoku is meant to be enjoyable to play no matter how you access the web. I’ve worked to make it usable with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, and while zoomed in, including:
- Full keyboard support — move around the puzzle board with the arrow keys, and place or mark a cell with Enter or Space. No mouse or touchscreen required.
- Screen reader support — every cell announces its row, column, colored region, and current contents, and dialogs like the tutorial and win/lose screens announce themselves properly and return you to where you left off when closed.
- Pinch-zoom and browser or OS-level zoom both work throughout the site — nothing is locked to a fixed zoom level.
- Motion is reduced automatically if your system has “reduce motion” turned on.
I’m aiming for Owldoku to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA (opens in a new tab), and I keep working on it as I learn more. That said, a visual, color-and-spatial puzzle is a genuinely hard thing to make equally easy for everyone, and I don’t think it’s fully there yet — solving a board cell by cell with a screen reader is a much slower experience than playing by sight. Ads served through Adsterra or other advertising partners are also outside my direct control.
If something is hard to use, confusing, or broken with assistive technology, I’d genuinely like to know. Please reach out on Instagram at @plasticinegames (opens in a new tab) and I’ll do what I can to fix it.
